With all that mess on Route 18 still in the works for another year, it might not be a surprise that East Brunswick recently was selected as one of the state’s 40 worst commutes.

The Obrella insurance company has released the results of a survey indicating the best and worst commutes in Central Jersey.

It came in at No. 10 with an average commute of 44.8 minutes.

Here’s a look at the rest of the “worst” survey taken by Obrella.com:

  • No. 3, Old Bridge, 46.7 minutes
  • No. 17, Plainsboro, 40.9 minutes
  • No. 24, Sayreville, 39.6 minutes
  • No. 25, South Brunswick, 39.5 minutes
  • No. 26, Readington, 39.4 minutes
  • No. 27, Montgomery, 39.2 minutes
  • No. 31, Westfield, 38.5 minutes
  • No. 33, Scotch Plains, 37.8 minutes
  • No. 35, Berkeley Township, 37.6 minutes
  • No. 40, Clinton Township, 37.2 minutes.

The survey was based on economic development, traffic, population density and other factors. Here are the best commutes in Central Jersey, according the Obrella insurance company:

  • No. 11, Manville, 25 minutes
  • No. 13, Somerville, 25 minutes
  • No. 23, New Brunswick, 25.8 minutes
  • No. 33, Perth Amboy, 26.4 minutes
  • No. 34, Bound Brook, 26.5 minutes
  • No. 37, Middlesex, 26.7 minutes.
