Franklin dog stolen in burglary back home; 2 arrested
FRANKLIN (Somerset) – Pepper is home again.
Township police have recovered the year-old schnauzer-poodle mix dog who was stolen in a burglary of a Hunt Road residence on Tuesday afternoon.
Police also have two suspects in custody, police Sgt. Phil Rizzo said.
"Thank goodness the dog is back home," he said.
Police said that a Hunt Road resident reported arriving home Tuesday afternoon and found that her laptop, tablet computer and some jewelry were missing. The jewelery was valued at $12,000.
Police said the woman had left her home for only a short period of time.
Investigators believe that the burglar entered through a rear door, which was unlocked.
Police did not release the names of the suspects or say whether they had been charged with any crime.
