Colonia 3, North Brunswick 0: Senior shortstop Kate Brannigan went 3-for-3 and knocked in all three Colonia runs on two home runs, as she led off the bottom of the first with a solo shot and hit a two-run homer in the third. Trish Daneke pitched a two-hit shutout for the win, striking out seven and walking three.

Rebecca Colandrea doubled for North Brunswick while freshman Sydney Voelbel took the loss in the circle as she struck out 10, walked two, and allowed three earned runs on four hits, three of which came off the bat of Brannigan.

South Plainfield 8, Bishop Ahr 5: Senior Caroline Ratti hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the third inning and three batters later Camryn Schaeffer, who went 2-for-4, hit a two-run double to highlight a four-run inning for South Plainfield.

Bishop Ahr responded in the top of the fourth as Amber Larocque's three-run home run tied the game 4-4 before the Tigers responded with another four run inning in the bottom half of the inning as they held on.

Caity Hughes went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and Katherine Vill allowed two earned runs on nine hits to get the win for South Plainfield.

J.F. Kennedy 16, Perth Amboy 12: Three outs away from being 10-runned, J.F. Kennedy responded with four runs in the bottom of the fifth and then exploded for an 11-run sixth to overcome a nine-run deficit. Kayla Coleman went 3-for-3 with three doubles, three RBI, and four runs for the Mustangs while Ashley Conroy went 2-for-4 with a double, two RBI, and three runs in the win.

Piscataway 8, Old Bridge 3: Julia Seader went 2-for-4 with a triple, two RBI and two runs scored to lead Piscataway, which scored three runs in the fourth and three in the sixth to overcome a 3-2 deficit. Emily Brown went 2-for-3 with two RBI for the Chiefs while Sarah Ogilvie struck out eight, walked none, and allowed three unearned runs on seven hits for the win. Bri Loughlin and Alex Grubiak each went 2-for-4 for Old Bridge while Miranda Wade hit a two-run double in the first inning for Old Bridge.

East Brunswick 15, Edison 0: Sam Smalley collected four hits, including a pair of doubles, and Kaleigh Dwyer fired a four hit shutout, striking out 11, walking none, and hitting a batter to lead East Brunswick. Lauren Assennata drove in the first of her three runs with a first-inning double for the Bears while Brenna Razzano had three hits and Hayley Lipson added two hits and three RBI in the victory.Nikki Gresh had a 2-for-3 day for Edison.

Spotswood 6, Carteret 2: Olivia Hellerich went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and Julie Raba went 2-for-4 with a run for Spotswood, which put up four runs in the fourth to take a 5-0 lead. Alexa Raba scattered nine hits and allowed two earned runs to earn the win for the Chargers. Nicole Casale went 2-for-3 with a double for Carteret.

Dunellen 17, Highland Park 2: Emily Cody went 4-for-4 with five RBI and allowed an earned run on two hits for the win to lead Dunellen. Mena Feliciano went 3-for-4 with a triple, three RBI, and four runs for the Destroyers while Alex Reidy went 3-for-3 with a run and RBI.

Wardlaw-Hartridge 18, South Amboy 4: Rachel Voeltzel went 2-for-3 with two home runs, three runs scored, and five RBI to lead Wardlaw-Hartridge. Sam Anastasiou went 3-for-3 with a double, home run, walk, and four runs scored for the Rams while Lacey Gress allowed two earned runs on two hits for the win. Meaghan McCarthy went 1-for-2 with a run for South Amboy.

Timothy Christian 14, Woodbridge Academy 3: Senior catcher Jenna Collier went 3-for-6 with two doubles and four RBI and senior right fielder Michaela Csorny was 3-for-5 with two RBI as Timothy Christian picked up an opening day win. Meribeth Brookman earned the win in the circle for the Tigers. Monique Klitbo collected two hits for Woodbridge Academy and Tiffany Ho went 1-for-3 with a run scored.
