BOYS LACROSSE: GMC TOURNAMENT FINAL PREVIEW

HOW THEY GOT HERE: North Brunswick beat No. 8 J.P. Stevens 19-3 and No. 4 Old Bridge 15-7. Monroe defeated No. 6 South Plainfield 21-8 and No. 2 South Brunswick 16-9.

MONROE REPORT: Monroe is playing in its first GMC Tournament final since 2011 and is looking to win its first ever title. The Falcons are currently on a five game winning streak, having outscored opponents 87-28. Kara Turco, the all-time points leader at Monroe, currently has 53 goals and 52 assists, while Jenna Morelli is close behind with 51 goals and 23 assists. Liz Skobelev (22 goals, 14 assists), Lesley Lane (26 goals, seven assists) and Olivia Tucker (14 goals, 13 assists) can also scored.

NORTH BRUNSWICK REPORT: North Brunswick has been a team on a mission, and is currently one of only two teams in the state that are still undefeated (the other is Bridgewater-Raritan). The Raiders lost to Old Bridge by one goal in last year's final, and the sting of that loss has been fueling them this season. Samantha Mehalick leads the team with 105 goals and 45 assists, and became the third girls player in New Jersey to reach the 400 goal plateau on Thursday. Tatul Altman has amassed 85 goals and 75 assists, while Tori Tucci has 66 goals and 58 assists. Goalie Natalie Chapman has made 108 saves and has allowed double-digit goals only three times this season, one of which to Monroe on April 19.

PREDICTION: This game will be a battle, but North Brunswick isn't going to let up now. North Brunswick 17, Monroe 14.
