Greater Middlesex Conference Tournament semifinals

South Brunswick 1, Monroe 1 (6-5 in shootout): It took a sudden-death shootout but the fourth-seeded South Brunswick High School girls soccer team pulled off the upset Thursday, topping top-seeded Monroe 1-1, 6-5 in the semifinals of the Greater Middlesex Conference Tournament.

Gennyka Leibenthal gave the Falcons a 1-0 lead in the second half, before Francesca Dimitrakis tied it for the Vikings, who will face third-seeded East Brunswick in Saturday’s final.

Sydney Schneider made 16 saves for South Brunswick, while Erin Seppi stopped 14 shots for Monroe.

Regular season

Ridge 1, Hillsborough 0 (OT): Erin Convery scored during the second overtime Thursday and the Ridge High School girls soccer team wrapped up its undefeated regular season with a 1-0 victory over Hillsborough. Sam Carney made six saves for the Red Devils (17-0). Hillsborough (8-8-1) got 11 saves from Olivia Bandola.

Hunterdon Central 2, Bridgewater-Raritan 1 (OT): Dana Flood found the golden goal five minutes into overtime as Hunterdon Central wrapped up its regular season 14-4-1. Brie Pavol, who assisted on the winner, scored twice for the Red Devils. Jezlyn Jimenez and Delaney Reilly hit for Bridgewater-Raritan (14-6)..

Watchung Hills 3, Franklin 0: Ally Grunstein, Nicole Parisi and Melanie Cunha scored goals to power Watchung Hills (11-5-3). Brooke Sachau made 10 saves for Franklin (7-10-1).

Pingry 1, Villa Walsh 0: Ava Dziadzio’s goal in the 30th minute proved plenty for Pingry, which wrapped up its regular season 8-10. Natalia Ramirez picked up the assist for the Blue Blue, while Abby Becjman and Libby Parsons each made four saves to share the shutout.

North Hunterdon 2, Phillipsburg 0: Nina Bussanich and Erin Kepenis scored goals as North Hunterdon rolled. Olivia Ripnyak made five saves for the Lions (10-6-2).

Spotswood 2, South Plainfield 1: Carolina Fernandez and Danielle Wittig scored goals and Lizzie Vignuolo made seven saves to propel Spotswood. Samantha Pullen hit for South Plainfield.

Bound Brook 5, Somerset Tech 1: Christine Mayorga netted a hat trick as Bound Brook rolled. Harleen Singh scored for Somerset Tech.

Dunellen 1, Middlesex 1: Katie Nicholson scored for Middlesex, while Jackie Von Itter hit for Dunellen.

Warren Hills 2, Delaware Valley 0: Ashley O’Toole made 12 saves for Delaware Valley, which fell to 3-14-1.

Belvidere 5, South Hunterdon 1: Charlotte Smith scored a goal for South Hunterdon (6-11).

Prep B semifinals

Princeton Day 1, Wardlaw-Hartridge 0: Lacey Gress made 11 saves for fourth-seeded Wardlaw-Hartridge in the semifinals.
