DELAWARE TOWNSHIP – Nina’s Waffles & Ice Cream announce they have opened a new shop at 567 Rosemont Ringoes Road in the Sergeantsville section.

Nina’s offers their Belgium Liege waffles, made from dough rather than batter. The waffles are unique in that the dough is homemade while others import the dough from Belgium. Nina’s Waffles are made with a special imported Belgium pearl sugar. When the dough is placed in the waffle iron, the sugar caramelizes and creates a crispy coating. The waffles are sweet and dense.

The shop makes its own small-batch, handcrafted, artisanal ice cream, with all natural ingredients, hormone-free milk and cream. There are always sumptuous flavors of ice cream to be enjoyed either on their own or to complement the traditional homemade Belgium Liege waffles. The creator of Nina’s Waffles & Ice Cream, Louis Zanias, received his certification for ice cream manufacturing after graduating from the world-renowned Penn State Creamery in University Park, Pennsylvania.

In addition to waffles and ice cream, the new location also serves lite fare daily. The menu has fresh soups, salads, sandwiches and eggs. Once a month, they offer a “local’s night menu” that features a three-course menu prepared by chef Shawn Lawson for $23 per person. Guests are encouraged to BYOB and enjoy a comfortable home-cooked meal. A children’s menu is also available.

There is indoor and outside seating. The summer hours are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesdays to Thursdays; 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Fridays; 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturdays and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sundays.

Nina’s Waffles & Ice Cream also has shops in New Hope and Doylestown, Pennsylvania.
