Watchung Hills 1, Franklin 0: Freshman righty Robin McCabe was only slightly more brilliant than Franklin counterpart, senior Sarah Smith, as the two each spun two-hitters Wednesday. McCabe allowed just two hits, one walk and struck out 11, taking a no-hitter into the seventh inning. Smith allowed one unearned run, also walking just one and striking out five. Watchung Hills scored its run int he second inning when Nicole Carrochia scored on a throwing error. Tina Zoppi and Gianna Aprile notched hits in the victory. Smith and Ashley Rupp picked up seventh-inning knocks for Franklin, but were stranded.

Union Catholic 3, Rahway 2: Kirsten Burr went 1-for-2 with an RBI and a walk as Union Catholic (7-13) got coach Ed Ryan his 100th career win. Tyanna Reynolds collected two hits for the Vikings and Lea Gurval scattered 11 hits, allowing two earned runs for the win.

Bound Brook 4, North Plainfield 3: Sophomore Nicole Roth had the game winning RBI in the bottom of the seventh inning, scoring sophomore Sam Cubas to lead Bound Brook to the walk-off win. Lacey Meyer scored two runs for the Crusaders and Emily Cortes collected two hits. Winning pitcher Charli Fillmore allowed two unearned runs over five innings.

Pingry 4, Somerville 2: Trailing 2-1, Pingry scored three runs in the sixth inning. Amanda Kim homered and drove in two runs for Somerville (6-17).

East Brunswick 5, Delaware Valley 3: Alyssa Ippolito picked up the win while Ashli Venokur hit a two-run homer and singled for the Bears. Ippolito, Brenna Razzano and Allie Warren each had two hits for East Brunswick. Ashley Britt and Amanda O'Brien had RBI singles and Alison O'Leary had an RBI double for Del Val.

NJSIAA Tournament first round

South Amboy 7, Somerset Tech 0: Jenna Makar went 2-for-3 with a triple and three RBI and Kaleigh Keegan pitched a three-hit shutout to lead fourth-seeded South Amboy (12-5) to a Central Group I first round win. Ashley Mandala drove in two runs for the Guvs. Daria Marini, Giannie Cintron, and Tara Lardiere all singled for 13th-seeded Somerset Tech (6-5).
