  • Arthur Moore was struck near the Clinton House
  • Police say drugs or alcohol are not factors in the accident.

CLINTON TOWN – A 64-year-old Annandale man died Tuesday night when he was struck by a 2001 Toyota Highlander as he was crossing West Main Street, near the Clinton House restaurant, police said.

Arthur Moore was struck at about 10:19 p.m., police said. He died at the scene.

Police determined that the Toyota Highlander, which was traveling eastbound and driven by Harold E. Henriquez, 36, of East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, hit Moore.

An investigation by Patrolman Jeff Ollerenshaw, Detective Sgt. Jay Hunter and the Hunterdon County Prosecutor's Office Fatal Accident Team has determined that the victim was not in or near a crosswalk and was wearing dark clothing. Police said lighting and visibility was poor because of weather conditions and that drugs or alcohol do not appear to have been factors in the accident.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone who may have witnessed this accident is asked to contact the Clinton Police Department at 908-735-8611.
